After months of searching and planning, the Women’s Centre has finally found a new home. And we’re excited to report that we will be staying in the same community!

As many of you know, the Women’s Centre’s tiny space has been bursting at the seams for quite some time, as the need for our services continues to grow. Our new office, located at 39-4th St. NE, will provide us with the space to grow and house our dreams.

Important dates

In order to coordinate the move and complete all retrofits required for our new space, the Women’s Centre will be closing at the end of December. Stay tuned for details on our official closing and reopening dates and our Open House.

Our new office is located at 39-4th St NE.
Our new office is located at 39-4th St NE. It will almost double our space.

How you can help

In order to minimize the delay in providing women with access to vital services, such as our Basic Needs program, we need support from the community in helping us complete retrofits required for our new space.

Donate time

During the months of May and June, we are looking for volunteers to assist with moving, painting, and renovating – especially those who are available to help out during the day. We also desperately need volunteers with qualified trades experience (plumbers, carpenters, electricians, HVAC technicians, etc).

If you are interested in rolling up your sleeves and getting your hands dirty, please contact Sarah at sarah@womenscentrecalgary.org.

Donate supplies

Every donation makes a difference in helping us design and build a warm and welcoming space for women. If you or your workplace is able to donate supplies, paint, furniture or funds to help us move and renovate, please contact Susan at susan@womenscentrecalgary.org.

Very nice place, and I hope that you will not be at risk of flooding.
Yes, your services have increased a lot since I first started to volunteer with the Women Centre and until the day I left Calgary in March 2004. I remember the day we painted this current location just before to open it and move to this location.
Now it is time for a bigger and new location for all the services you have.

    Most sincerely,

    Assia

  2. Hi Assia,

Fortunately we were not affected by flooding (at the current or new space) other than some temporary power outages. Our thoughts are with all those who were impacted. Thank you for your kind words.
