Have any spare time this spring – why not consider volunteering at the Women’s Centre!
Volunteers are the cornerstone of the Women’s Centre as all of our programs and services are delivered by volunteers. In 2011 we were thankful for the work of over 470 active volunteers!
If you are passionate about women’s issues and supporting women, our volunteer program will provide you with the tools, resources and support needed to make a difference at the Women’s Centre.
We are currently in need of Peer Support Volunteers
Peer support is non-judgmental, non-therapeutic support that women provide to each other. Peer Support Volunteers provide information, referrals and support to women who drop in or call.
Needed Skills: Friendly, ability to multitask, dependable and willingness to learn. Ability to speak and write in English. Speaking other languages is an asset too.
Time commitment is 3 hours per week.
Currently we have openings for the following volunteer shifts:
- 9:30AM-12:30PM Monday to Thursday
- 12:00-3:00PM Monday to Thursday
- 2:30-5:30PM Monday to Thursday
- 10:00AM-1:00PM on Fridays
NOTE: We urgently need volunteers for the 2:30-5:30pm shift as it is the hardest shift to fill.
