I need family legal services and was told to contact the women’s centre to get in touch with a lawyer for low income single moms
Hi Amanda,
The Women’s Centre does offer free legal advice for women around issues of family separation, landlord tenant issues, wills, employment issues and other legal matters. The appointments are in the evening and consist of one half-hour of one-on-one legal advice from a volunteer lawyer.
As of today, we aren’t quite ready to open our doors yet to the public due to renovations of our new space. We will start booking legal appointments on Monday, April 28 with our first clinic starting on May 6. Please call us on Monday at 403-264-1155 and we will be happy to book you in. If your matter is more urgent you can contact Calgary Legal Guidance at (403) 234-9266. They also have legal advice clinics and may be able to fit you in sooner. I hope that this helps.
