Peer Support volunteers play a vital role at the Women’s Centre.  They are the first people to welcome women who come in, they provide referrals to other agencies, and provide direct assistance for basic needs such as food hampers, personal care items, and birthday gifts for children.  More than that, though, they build community through listening and supporting women.

Last year, we had more than 183 peer support volunteers contribute their time to supporting the women in our community.  Without the passion and dedication displayed by each and every one of our volunteers, the Women’s Centre simply would not have been able to provide 1078 hours of peer support, 5649 referrals, and 7791 hours of direct assistance.

Thank you so much for all your hard work – you are an inspiration to work with!
