Summer sunshine, line-ups for food and Stampede spirit – a perfect recipe for bringing together the Calgary community every July. More than 350 people came out to the Women’s Centre’s annual Stampede Lunch last week, a record-breaking attendance level.
For the second year, this event would not have been possible without the generous sponsorship and support from the Encana Women’s Network and Community Involvement team. In total, 58 Encana staff volunteered to bake goodies, greet guests, prepare and serve food, and assist with event clean-up.
The Encana Women’s Network has a mission to “facilitate a culture of women empowering women to achieve career and personal goals”. Community service, mentorship, volunteerism, and group activities that support women in need are some of EWN’s main objectives.
Thank-you to all Women’s Centre and Encana volunteers for helping make our Stampede Lunch a success. A special thanks to Diana Wong Doolan for coordinating Encana’s overall involvement of the event and Pat McDonald, VP of HR & Communications, who offered Encana’s best Stampede wishes to the gathered crowd and helped serve food.
