March 8 marks the occasion to celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD). Communities across the globe, including ours, will unite in celebration of women in honour of this day.

For more than 100 years, IWD has helped to increase awareness for women’s rights and advancements around the world. This year’s official theme, Inspiring Change, speaks to the need to continue advocating for further positive gains in equality for women, everywhere and in every way.

What women in your life symbolize strength or inspire change? Why not add a patch to our Living Quilt in their honour?

Join us in celebrating strong women and sharing inspiration for change here in our city at one of these local IWD festivities:

The Women’s Centre will be attending and helping coordinate both of these events, and we’d love to have you join us.

Happy IWD!
