Starting October 6, girls 10-12 years old can get a hardy dose of Girl Power twice a week, every week! Excited? So are we! And to get you even more excited, here is a sneak peek at the activities we have planned for the first month. Media & Gender will be our overall focus, with the following activities thrown in to give girls a chance get to know each other and have some fun.
They are:
Week of October 6: Decorating the Girl Power Space
Week of October 13: Aboriginal Drumming
Week of October 20: Crocheting
Week of October 27: Hip Hop
Girl Power After School will run every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30-5:30pm. This program is totally FREE – all snacks, supplies and bus tickets will be provided. Sign up is ongoing, and once girls’ guardians have waivers filled out, the girls can attend when works best for them! Do you know a girl who might be interested?
