In 2022, the Women’s Centre provided direct assistance with basic needs 28,860 times.
Below is a list of free services we offer to women.
We also provide information and a wide variety of referrals to social service agencies in the city.

Peer Support
Peer support is trust-based, support from trained volunteers that women provide to each other. Our peer support is:
- non-judgmental
- non-therapeutic
- delivered on a one-to-one basis
Peer support is available to women who need:
- basic needs support
- information about community resources
- direction based on a question or concern
- someone to listen

Community Drop-in Space
The Women’s Centre is a safe place for women to walk in*, connect with other women and build community. Our space offers:
- a sitting area
- free coffee and snacks
- an events board with information about Women’s Centre and community events

Personal Care Items
When resources allow, we provide women with access to food and personal care items such as:
- pads
- shampoo
- conditioner
- body wash
- toothpaste
- pregnancy test kits
- condoms
Computers & Equipment
Women have free access to:
- computers with Internet
- a photocopier
- a fax machine
- telephones
We also take telephone messages for women and offer free computer workshops, or support.
Birthday Program
With their child’s I.D., mothers or primary caregivers can come in two weeks before or after their child’s birthday to choose a gift from our Toy Room.
