Have you always thought about volunteering in your community, but felt like you did not have enough time? If so, this blog is here to help you, by offering another option to get involved!
Football season is fast approaching and we are gearing up for another awesome year. One of the reasons football is so exciting is because we have the incredible pleasure of working with truly awesome volunteers, who enjoy the game while volunteering for the Women’s Centre. Our football volunteers volunteer their time at Calgary Stampeders games as volunteer ushers, helping fans to their seats. All proceeds from their hard work go to the Women’s Centre’s Basic Needs program, which connects women with personal care items like shampoo, soap, pads and tampons every month.
Our volunteers are super dedicated and are always happy to be at each game, year after year. They are there for us in rain, shine, and snow, no matter how extreme the weather conditions get. These volunteers have single handily contributed over 1200 hours, in just the 2017 season alone. Not to mention the fact that their hard work helped us raise approximately $16,000.
