Jane’s Walk Weekend

Jane’s Walk started about 10 years ago to honour the legacy of activist Jane Jacobs and her passionate vision of a community-based approach to urban planning. Once again this year as part of Jane’s Walk, we will be organizing a Feminist Walk! Come learn about women’s achievements and the social issues that impact them. The tour will also be a fun opportunity to talk with community members and shed some new light on buildings and monuments in the city.

When: Saturday, May 7th, 2-4pm.

Meeting location: Women’s Centre of Calgary 39, 4 St NE, Calgary

Coffee and tea will be provided before we begin. Feel free to bring snacks for the walk!

End location:  City Hall 800 Macleod Trail SE, Calgary

Participants have the option of ending their walk here, or heading back to the Centre with staff and volunteers.

Who should join us for the walk?

Anyone who wants to learn more about Calgary’s HerStory is welcome! Feel free to share the information with friends, family and colleagues! We try to include new content every time we run the walk, so even those who have walked with us before will be able to hear something new.

Our tour will take place rain or shine, so remember to dress accordingly and wear comfortable shoes. This will be a light walk and we’ll do our best to keep it as accessible as possible. However, we will be crossing streets and sidewalks.
