Food Security: global problems, local solutions

For the February edition of our Environmental Issues Discussion Series we’re talking about an issue that affects each and every one of us – FOOD. Join us for a discussion and workshop on the topic of food security. We’ll discuss food
insecurity and the way it is experienced worldwide, and learn about local initiatives and sustainable solutions being implemented here in Calgary. Esther Bogorov from Rhubarb Collective will lead us in a workshop to answer some of the following questions.

Connecting the dots between food, gender and justice. Join us February 15 to talk about food security at the Women’s Centre.

  • What is good food?
  • What is food insecurity, and who does it impact?
  • How is food insecurity showing up in our community, and how can we address it?
  • Going local and growing local: how can you find solutions to food insecurity in Calgary?
  • Makers and shakers: who is addressing the issue of food insecurity, and how can you get involved?

Come to the Women’s Centre to meet someone new, and discuss an issue that impacts all of us. This event runs from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm. Free child-minding will be offered at this event.

With questions or to learn more, call 403-264-1155, or email krystal@womenscentrecalgary.org. This event is open to anyone who identifies as female.
