Bee-ing Sustainable

Bee-ing Sustainable

July 31, 2019 @ 6:00pm

A discussion and workshop on bee sustainability.

The workshop will start with a discussion on the importance of native bees. Native bees make up over 90% of the bee population and work independently to spread pollen from plant to plant. At least 30% of the world’s crops and 90% of all plants require cross-pollination to spread and thrive. Here in Canada, bees are one of our most important pollinators. All across the world, the population of solitary bees is declining, with habitat loss is one of leading causes of the decline. After a brief discussion on bees we will learn how to make a seed bomb containing native wildflowers to plant and encourage native pollinator species.

This workshop is open to anyone who identifies as a woman. No children in this workshop please.

Free child minding is available for this workshop. Please register your children with their names and ages by calling 403-264-1155 or email
