Drawing Your Daily Life (In-person)
February 15, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
FreeLearn how drawing your life experiences can help you see things in a different way. Drawing is something we all do as kids, but then stop because we think we’re bad at it. But drawing can benefit us all, no matter our skill level. Join cartoonist and graphic memoirist Teresa Wong in a workshop full of fun and easy exercises designed to kickstart creativity and improve your mental health. No artistic experience required. Supplies will be provided and a drawing book given to take home.
This workshop is open to all who identify as women. Staff and volunteers will wear masks to keep each other safe and we ask you do the same. Please register below, email RSVP@womenscentrecalgary.org or call 403.264.1155.
Teresa Wong is the author of the graphic memoir Dear Scarlet: The Story of My Postpartum Depression, a finalist for The City of Calgary W.O. Mitchell Book Prize and longlisted for CBC Canada Reads 2020. Her comics have appeared in The Believer, The New Yorker and Event Magazine. She teaches memoir and comics at Gotham Writers Workshop, and is the 2021–22 Canadian Writer-in-Residence at the University of Calgary.
